Wednesday Star Cast Emma Myers Joins The 'Minecraft' Cast

According to Deadline, Wednesday star Emma Myers has joined the cast of the Minecraft feature picture.

The film is directed by Jared Hess of Napoleon Dynamite and stars Aquaman’s Jason Momoa.

Danielle Brooks and Sebastian Eugene Hansen also play important roles in the film. While the film will be based on a popular video game, storyline elements are still unknown.

The live-action Minecraft film from Warner Bros. was first announced in 2014. Following multiple announced and missed release dates, the studio just revealed that the film will be released on April 4, 2025.

Momoa’s casting was confirmed in April of last year, but the picture has been plagued by development hurdles from its inception.

Shawn Levy was supposed to direct the film at first. However, due to schedule conflicts, he departed the production, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia creator/star Rob McElhenney came in to fill his shoes.

However, that plan did not work out, and eventually, Peter Sollett was brought in to work on the project, and he eventually turned over the keys to Hess.

Lee will produce alongside Mary Parent, with Jon Berg, Cale Boyter, and Jon Spaihts serving as executive producers.

The video game was created by Sweden’s Mojang Studios, and the film was also produced by Lydia Winters and Vu Bui of Mojang.
