We are glad to inform you that Kuma the Bear will be appearing in Tekken 8, as we know you were all scared and having trouble sleeping.
To start with, for those who don’t know, Kuma is, well, unpleasant. Second of all, hurry up. One of the most beloved characters in the Tekken series has made an appearance in every mainline game as a playable fighter with amazing sequences at the conclusion.
Kuma, who frequently feuds with the main antagonist of the game, Heihachi Mishima, is the star of some of the funniest and greatest cutscenes in the Tekken series. It’s excellent content. And now there is official confirmation for Tekken 8 featuring this adorable, yet lethal, bear.
Bandai Namco gave a late Christmas gift in the form of a reveal teaser for Kuma in Tekken 8 on December 27. The “Master of Salmon” looks fluffier and deadlier than ever in the new film, replete with a stylish headgear and vest. Folks, that’s one tough bear.
Kuma’s Role In Tekken Franchise
We also see Kuma’s panda equivalent, Panda, in the video. It’s not the most creative name, but it works. Panda, like Kuma, has been a combatant in the majority of the mainline Tekken games and is frequently seen talking with Kuma in cutscenes.
The best part of this new teaser comes near the end, when we see Kuma transform his salmon into a futuristic robotic fish missile and launch it at Panda. Tekken is a strange franchise, isn’t it?
And, yes, there are technically TWO Kumas in the Tekken series, as the one in today’s clip is the offspring of the original bear from the first two games. After his father died before the events of Tekken 3, this new Kuma became a fighter. Yeah, Tekken is strange.
But I like how strange it is, and I’m looking forward to seeing Kuma’s new ending in Tekken 8 when it comes out on January 26, 2024 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
